Welcome to Europe

I think I have just unwittingly been a part of one of the more important things in Hungarian history. This weekend Hungary joined the EU. It was a big deal. Budapest had a huge celebration; fireworks, an air show, food cooked in tents, a bridge planted with grass, and concerts and the works. It was very interesting to be a part of it. Hungarian's have long felt that, though they are in Europe, they were treated like outsiders. But now it seems that, finally, after 1000 years of exclusion, Europe has drawn them into the fold.
